Hello, I’m Dr Nina Lübbren, Associate Professor of film and art history at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK.
I grew up in Indonesia and Australia, and went to university in Germany, California and England.
I’m the author of two books: Rural Artists’ Colonies in Europe 1870-1910 and Narrative Painting in Nineteenth-Century Europe. I’m the co-editor of two further books: Visual Culture and Tourism and Painting and Narrative in France. I’ve published articles and essays on modern German sculpture. I am currently writing a book on women sculptors in Germany, 1910-1930.
I’m a member of the Editorial Board of the Visual Cultures and German Contexts series at Bloomsbury Academic.
Besides my academic interests, I read novels, write fiction and do Bollywood dance. I have two sons and live in Cambridge with one of them plus a cavapoochon.
